Differential gene expression in Toxoplasma gondii-infected cells with modulated IFITM2/3 expression

ABSTRACT: Transcriptome sequencing (RNA-seq) was performed to investigate the global gene expression changes in host cells following Toxoplasma gondii infection, with a focus on the regulatory roles of interferon-induced transmembrane proteins 2 and 3 (IFITM2/3). Host cells were transfected with IFITM2 or IFITM3 overexpression vectors or empty vector controls, then infected with Toxoplasma gondii. Uninfected cells with corresponding vector transfections were included as controls.
