Physiological and transcriptomic analyses reveal the effects of rearing temperature on growth, muscle texture and nutritional quality of Carassius gibelio.

ABSTRACT: To investigate the effects of rearing temperature on muscle development at the transcriptional level in gibel carp (Carassius gibelio), the fish were exposed to three constant temperatures (24°C, 28°C, and 32°C) for 70 days. The transcriptome analysis results demonstrated that the rearing temperature significantly influences the expression of genes associated with muscle development.
