Plasma multi-miRNA models classify Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and Lewy body dementia

ABSTRACT: We obtained 289 human plasma samples from national repositories in order to examine whether miRNAs could serve as biomarkers to distinguish diagnostic groups with similar clinical presentations and co-pathologies from each other. The participant groups included Alzheimer’s disease (AD), Parkinson’s disease (PD), and dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB). We also examined plasma miRNAs in normal control participants (NC).
