Leaf Gene Expression Profiles in CMV-Resistant and Non-Resistant Cassava
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: To elucidate the molecular mechanisms underlying Cassava Mosaic Virus (CMV) resistance in cassava (Manihot esculenta), we performed high-throughput RNA-sequencing (RNA-seq) on 6-month-old leaf tissues from contrasting cultivars. Transcriptomic profiling was conducted on the susceptible, non-CMV resistant line 'Huay Bong 100' (HB100) alongside two elite CMV-resistant lines, 'MKUC64-36-160' and 'TMS-IBA 980581'. This dataset provides a comprehensive comparative gene expression profile during a critical physiological growth stage, enabling the identification of differentially expressed genes, defense-related pathways, and potential molecular markers associated with durable virus resistance. The datasets serve as a valuable resource for cassava breeding programs aimed at enhancing crop resilience against viral pathogens.
