Single-cell RNA sequencing of rat lungs in pulmonary arterial hypertension

ABSTRACT: This study investigated the cellular expression landscape of Birc5 (Survivin) in pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). Single-cell RNA sequencing was performed on right-lung tissue from three male Sprague-Dawley rats with pneumonectomy plus monocrotaline-induced PAH and three independent sham-operated control rats. The dataset was used to identify major lung cell populations and to assess enrichment of Birc5 and senescence-associated genes, including Cdkn2a, Cdkn1a, and H2afx, in macrophage subpopulations.
