Co-Administration of Trans-Resveratrol and L-Carnitine with a High-Fat and High-Carbohydrate Diet Modulates Liver Transcriptome in Obesity-Resistant DBA/2J Mice

ABSTRACT: This study investigated the effects of combined trans-resveratrol and L-carnitine supplementation on the liver transcriptome of male DBA/2J mice, a strain resistant to diet-induced obesity. Mice received either a control diet (CD) or a high-fat-high-carbohydrate diet (HFCD) for 64 days, with no supplement, a low-dose resveratrol/L-carnitine combination (RCl; 25/300 mg/kg body weight/day), or a high-dose combination (RCh; 50/600 mg/kg body weight/day). Liver gene expression was profiled using Agilent SurePrint G3 Mouse Gene Expression v2 8x60K one-color microarrays.
