Kidney transcriptome of ANDY mice on niacin-free diet and following dietary recovery (RNA-seq)

ABSTRACT: RNA-sequencing of kidney tissue from ANDY mice (transgenic mice with doxycycline-inducible expression of human ACMSD, conferring acquired dependency on dietary niacin for NAD synthesis). Male ANDY mice received doxycycline in drinking water and were maintained for 21 weeks on a niacin-replete control diet (CD) or a niacin-free diet (NFD) to induce chronic NAD deficiency, or were maintained on NFD for 15 weeks and then switched to CD for 6 weeks to assess recovery (Rec). Kidney was collected at the end of the feeding trial for bulk RNA-seq to characterize transcriptional changes associated with NAD deficiency and dietary recovery (Fig. 5a; Supplementary Fig. 5h-k). 'Inducible chronic NAD deficiency in mice reveals multi-systemic phenotypical, metabolic, and transcriptional changes.' Nature Communications (in revision; NCOMMS-26-053722-T).
