Transcriptomic profiling of muscle tissue across clitellar developmental stages in Pheretima aspergillum
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: This study provides comprehensive transcriptomic profiles of muscle tissue from Pheretima aspergillum across four clitellar developmental stages: aclitellate, early clitellate, clitellate, and post-clitellate. To minimize individual variation, total RNA from six individuals was pooled for each replicate, yielding six biological replicates per stage (24 libraries total). Sequencing via the Illumina NovaSeq 6000 platform generated 1,066,005,842 clean reads (148.68 Gb). Reads were mapped to the reference genome (ASM1834038v1) with average mapping rates up to 88.14%, identifying 2,439 differentially expressed genes (DEGs). This dataset serves as a core resource for deciphering transcriptional regulatory networks in annelid reproductive maturation, tissue remodeling, and medicinal component metabolism, while supporting comparative evolutionary biology in Annelida.
