Project description:To elucidate roles that Nrf2 plays in regulating adaptive responses to the space stress, one month-long space travel and RNA-seq analysis of six Nrf2-KO mice and six wild-type mice were conducted . After 31-days-stay in the ISS, all the flight mice returned safely to Earth. We found that Nrf2 was indeed activated by the space stress in various tissues. The space stress and Nrf2-deficiency brought about changes in gene expression.

5-Hydroxymethylcytosine profiling of aging hippocampi

Project description:We profiled 5-hydroxymethylcytosine patterns in hippocampi using hydroxymethylated DNA immunoprecipitation followed by Illumina deep sequencing (hMeDIP-Seq). We profiled the hippocampi of 4 young (3 month old) and 4 aged (18 month old) C57BL/6 mice. Additionally, we profiled the 5-hmC patterns of hippocampi that were stereotactically injected with lentiviral constructs that overexpressed Tet2 or luciferase.

Project description:The goal of the study was to compare gene expression of P0 wild-type, P0 Fezf2-/- cortices, and Fezf2-/-; Fezf2-EnR cortices. Total RNAs were isolated from P0 cortices dissected from wild-type (n=3), Fezf2-/- mice (n=4), and Fezf2-/-; Fezf2-EnR cortices (n=2), following Qiagen RNAeasy kit instruction.Sequence libraries were made following Illumina RNA PolyA library preparation guide.The libaries were pair-end sequenced (150nt per end). Differentially expressed genes were identified by DESEQ.
