Project description:Bisphenol A (BPA) analogs, bisphenol B (BPB) and bisphenol AF (BPAF) have been widely detected in the environment and human products with increasing frequency. However, uterine health risks caused by BPBBisphenol A (BPA) analogs, bisphenol B (BPB) and bisphenol AF (BPAF) have been widely detected in the environment and human products with increasing frequency. However, uterine health risks caused by BPB and BPAF exposure need to be further elucidated. The study aimed to explore whether BPB or BPAF exposure will induce adverse outcomes in uterus. We then performed gene expression profiling using data obtained from mouse uterus exposed to BPB and BPAF at 28 days.

Project description:Investigation of whole genome gene expression level changes in human osteosarcoma cell line MNNG/HOS treated by TGF-beta1 for three days (mesophase) and five days (sarcospheres iOSCs), compared to non-treatment cells (residual adherent cells). A three chip study using total RNA cover from three cultures of non-treatment human osteosarcoma cell line MNNG/HOS (residual adherent cells), TGF-beta1 treated three days osteosarcoma cell line MNNG/HOS (mesophase) and TGF-beta1 treated five days osteosarcoma cell line MNNG/HOS ( only collected the suspending sarcospheres iOSCs). Each chip measures the expression level of 45033 genes from osteosarcoma cell line MNNG/HOS.

Project description:Plasticizers with estrogenic activity, such as bisphenol A (BPA), have been reported to have potential adverse health effects in humans, especially in fetal and infant stages. Due to mounting evidence and public pressure BPA is being phased out by the plastics manufacturing industry and is being replaced by other bisphenol variants in “BPA-free” products. Gene expression profiling of HOS (human osteosarcoma) cells exposed to fluoride

Project description:Though fluoride is considered an essential trace element, chronic exposure to fluoride is known to cause toxic effects. Chronic exposure of high concentration of fluoride may leads to fluorosis. To understand the molecular mechanism of fluoride induced toxicity gene expression profiling was performed on osteosarcoma cells (HOS). Cells were exposed to sub-lethal concentration of fluoride (8 ppm) for 30 days. Our result demonstrates that fluoride alters multiple biological pathways including bone development, osteoblast differentiation and apoptotic pathways. HOS cells grown in MEM were treated with fluoride and total RNA was isolated from cells after 30 days exposure. Three replicates per group were used for the experiment.
