Transcriptome Analysis of Esophageal Squamous Cell Carcinoma by using Next Generation Sequencing


ABSTRACT: We obtained transcriptome profiling (SAGE-seq) of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) and normal tissue specimens by using next generation sequencing. Overall design: Comparison of expression pfofiles between ESCC and normal mucosa.

Esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) is associated with the accumulation of genetic and epigenetic changes in the background mucosa. Dysregulated DNA methylation is known to lead to the inactivation of tumor suppressor genes and the activation of oncogenes.
