RNA transcriptome in Drosophila melanogaster embryos mutant for serine hydroxymethyl transferase (SHMT)

ABSTRACT: We report the analysis of the transcriptome in Drosophila embryos with two genotypes (1: wild type, 2: embryos from germline clones of a SHMT mutant (allele X238)) and two developmental stages (1: pre-blastoderm, stage 1 and stage 2, 0–1h after egg lay, 2: late blastoderm/cellularisation stage 5, 1.5–2.5 h after egg lay)

Early developmental transcriptome of Musca domestica.

Project description:Using mRNA next generation sequencing, we analyze the transcriptome of Musca domestica embryos through five stages of early development: from syncytial blastoderm to dorsal closure stage. We select 100 embryos for five developmental stages: syncytial blastoderm, cellular blastoderm, gastrula, germ band extension and dorsal closure. A total of 10 samples of mRNA were obtained, represent two biological replicates for each stage.

Project description:Transcriptional profiling of Drosophila embryos comparing lola mutant 10-12 hour after egg lay (AEL) embryos to age-matched control embryos. Mutants are homozygous lola nulls (allele lola_ORE76). Two-condition experiment: lola mutant embryos vs. age-matched control embryos. 7 biological replicates, each sample independently collected and containing RNA from approximately 300 embryos. Mutant and control embryos for each replicate were collected simultaneously. Dye-swaps were performed.
