GNPS - Production of chemoattractant molecules during juvenile coral development
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: Exudate samples were collected from juvenile Acropora millepora corals, during the first 3 weeks of their development. The coral life stages in the experiment include egg bundles sampled on spawning night, larvae, settled recruit corals, and finally recruits containing their endosymbiotic Symbiodiniaceae. Exudate samples were concentrated and desalted with solid phase extraction (SPE), using three different types of cartridge (PPL, HLB and ENVI-Carb) at two different pHs (2 and native). With untargeted MS we want to understand the differences in the chemical composition between samples treated with different SPE methods, and coming from different juvenile coral life stages.. Untargeted LC-MS/MS acquisition was performed on a Vanquish Flex UHPLC system coupled to an Orbitrap Exploris 240 (Thermo Fisher Scientific, Bremen, Germany). Chromatographic separation was performed on a Kinetex 2.6 um 100 A pore size Polar C18 reversed phase UHPLC column 100 x 2.1 mm (Phenomenex, Torrance, CA)
INSTRUMENT(S): Orbitrap Exploris 240
ORGANISM(S): Acropora Millepora (ncbitaxon:45264) Symbiodiniaceae (ncbitaxon:252141)
