Proteome of parthenogenetic and bisexual ovarian tissues of Haemaphysalis longicornis at different feeding stages


ABSTRACT: The vector tick Haemaphysalis longicornis exhibits two reproductive strategies: bisexual populations (HLBP) and parthenogenetic populations (HLPP). To understand the molecular function of genes associated with H. longicornis ovarian development, an integration of quantitative proteomics was carried out on ovaries of HLBP and HLPP in different feeding stages. The ovarian tissues of HLBP and HLPP were divided into three different stages (early-fed, partially-fed and engorged, respectively).

The tick <i>Haemaphysalis longicornis</i> has two reproductive groups: a bisexual group (HLBP) and a parthenogenetic group (HLPP).
