Peripheral Blood Methylation Profiling of Female Crohnâs Disease Patients

Project description:Genome wide DNA methylation profiling of female Crohn's disease patients versus healthy female controls. The Illumina Infinium 450k Human DNA methylation Beadchip was used to obtain DNA methylation profiles across approximately 485,000 CpGs in peripheral blood samples. Samples included 25 healthy controls and 18 female patients with histologically confirmed CD. Bisulfite converted DNA from the 43 samples (25 healthy controls and 18 female patients with histologically confirmed CD) were hybridized to the Illumina Infinium 450k Human Methylation Beadchip Please note that three patient samples (Crohn100, Crohn32, and Crohn75) did not pass QC test and were removed from data processing. Therefore, only 15 patient samples are included in the records.

Differences in bone marrow serum proteins in acute myeloid leukemia patients and normal controls

Project description:we evaluated cytokine profiling of bone marrow serum samples in AML patients and healthy controls. Protein expression profiling of serum from 9 AML patients and 5 healthy controls was obtained using biotinylated antibody chip. Total 507 cytokines and growth factors were analyzed. Compared with healthy people, AML patients expressed 31 signature proteins, among which, 27 were found significantly higher expressed and 4 proteins were lower.

Serum microRNA expression in patients with HBV-related liver cirrhosis and bacterial infection.

Project description:Hepatitis B virus-related liver cirrhosis (HBV-LC) is susceptible to bacterial infections, which could lead to adverse prognosis in patients. MicroRNA (miRNA) is easily detected in peripheral blood and is involved in multiple liver diseases. This pilot study aimed to investigate the differentially expressed (DE) miRNAs in the serum of patients with HBV-LC and bacterial infection, and to identify the potential biomarker. The clinical samples was collected, including four patients with HBV-LC and infection, four patients with HBV-LC without infection, four patients with chronic hepatitis B (CHB) and four healthy controls. miRNA expression was analyzed by Affymetrix GeneChip miRNA 4.0 Array. A total of 385 DE miRNAs (upregulated, 160; downregulated, 225) were detected in patients with HBV-LC and infection compared with patients with HBV-LC without infection.
