Plasma Proteomics in Patients with Age-related Sarcopenia

ABSTRACT: Data-independent acquisition-based proteomics was performed on plasma samples from 60 hospitalized participants, 30 with age-related sarcopenia and 30 without. In the data, label "A" represents "sarcopenia", and "B" represents "non-sarcopenia". This study was approved by the ethics committee of hospital and informed consent were obtained from all participants.

Project description:In this study, neutrophils isolated from human peripheral blood were cultured with PBS, tPA(10μg/ml) or tPA+HRG (0.5μm) for 2.5 hours at 37 ° C . Then, neutrophils were collected for proteomic analysis (n=6). Subcutaneous adipose gene expression from men in the METSIM cohort

Project description:We analyzed the abdominal subcutaneous adipose tissue of 434 male human subjects from the METSIM study, via RNA-sequencing. The METSIM study was approved by the Ethics Committee of the University of Eastern Finland and Kuopio University Hospital in Kuopio, Finland and carried out in accordance with the Helsinki Declaration. Written informed consent was obtained from all participants. Here, we provide the expression values by gene for each subject and relevant covariates. Raw fastq files will be contributed to dbGaP, as they require controlled access.

Ely study plasma proteomics analysis

Project description:The Ely study, established in 1990, is a prospective study of the aetiology of type 2 diabetes and was described in detail elsewhere. The Ely study comprises individuals of European ancestry aged 50–79 years, registered at a single medical practice in Ely, Cambridgeshire, UK and evaluated in three phases. All participants of the Ely study gave their written informed consent and the study was approved by the local ethics committee. Two hundred participants from Ely phase 3 with complete fasting and OGTT sample availability were selected for measurement (105 women / 95 men).

Molecular classifiers for follicular adenomas

Project description:Patients were recruited at the Hospital do Cancer AC Camargo (São Paulo/Brazil), Instituto de Enfermedades Neoplasicas - INEN (Lima, Peru), Hospital Araujo Jorge (Goiania, Brazil) and Hospital Heliopolis (São Paulo, Brazil).All patients signed a pre-informed consent and the study was approved by the internal ethics committee. Tissue samples were snap frozen in liquid nitrogen . Before RNA extraction histopathological diagnosis was re-confirmed, all samples were micro-dissected and only tissues with at least 70% of tumor cells and no visible infiltrating inflammatory cells were used as tumor. Morphologically disease-free tissue obtained from surgical margins was considered as normal. A total of 38 samples were analyzed: 8 normal tissues, 10 goiters, 10 adenomas and 10 papillary carcinomas. Keywords: other

RNA difference in superficial temporal artery between moyamoya disease and normal control

Project description:We collected the Superficial temporal artery (STA) tissues from patients with Moyamoya disease who underwent combined direct and indirect bypass surgery and patients with brain trauma requiring craniotomy in the Department of Neurosurgery, First Affiliated Hospital of USTC (Anhui Provincial Hospital). One part was fixed in 10% neutral formalin solution, and the other part was stored in a refrigerator at -80 ℃. All protocols using human specimens were approved by the ethics committee of the First Affiliated Hospital of USTC (Anhui Provincial Hospital). Written informed consent was obtained from all patients. All protocols were approved by the Institutional Review Board of the First Affiliated Hospital of USTC (Anhui Provincial Hospital).Total RNA was extracted from the STA tissues using Trizol reagent (Invitrogen, Carlsbad, CA, USA) according to the manufacturer's protocol. The integrity and concentration of RNA were detected using an Agilent Bioanalyzer 2100 system (Agilent Technologies, Santa Clara, Calif., USA), enriched and purified with Oligo (dT) -bearing magnetic beads. RNA sequencing was performed by Anoroad (Beijing, China).

Transcriptome profiling of 57 LUAD samples and 11 peritumoral normal lung tissues

Project description:RNA was extracted from 57 LUAD patients hospitalized from 2004 to 2010 at the Pasteur Hospital (Departments of Pulmonary Medicine, and Thoracic Surgery, CHU de Nice, France) and 11 normal lung tissue specimens taken from areas at standard distance (3 cm) from the same cohort of patients.The diagnosis of LUAD patients was based on examination of all tumor specimens using the 7th pTNM classification and on the last histological classification of NSCLC. Written informed consent was obtained from participants after explaining the nature of the study, which was approved by the research ethics board of the Nice University hospital and was performed according to the guidelines of the Declaration of Helsinki. The main clinical and pathological data are summarized. Enrollment of patients in our study was conditioned by stringent criteria such as obtained signed consent, availability of resected surgical specimens, good quality RNA and time of follow-up for surviving patients (min 40 months for surviving patients).
