Posttranslational modifications (PTMs) of tubulin, termed the "tubulin code", play important roles in regulating microtubule functions within subcellular compartments for specialized cellular activities. While numerous tubulin PTMs have been identified, a comprehensive understanding of the complete repertoire is still underway.
