Functional Characterization of the Histidine Kinase ONR73_07150 in Aeromonas veronii

ABSTRACT: To elucidate the function of the histidine kinase ONR73_07150 in Aeromonas veronii, we employed label-free quantitative proteomics to compare the total proteomes of wild-type and ONR73_07150 knockout strains. This approach identified a total of 2614 proteins, of which 52 were differentially expressed. Subsequently, we performed functional annotation of these differentially expressed proteins using Gene Ontology analysis.

<h4>Introduction</h4>Response regulators from diverse two-component systems often function as diguanylate cyclases or phosphodiesterases, thereby enabling precise regulation of intracellular c-di-GMP levels to control bacterial virulence and motility. However, the regulatory mechanisms of c-di-GMP require further elucidation.<h4>Methods</h4>This study confirmed that ArrS and ArrR form a two-component system via structural analysis, two-hybrid, and phosphodiesterase activity detection.
