<i>Streptococcus mutans</i> (<i>S. mutans</i>) plays an important role in dental caries through acid production and biofilm formation. The membrane vesicles (MVs) of <i>S. mutans</i> are essential for microbial physiology, biofilm activity, and acid adaptation.
