Effects of One-week Intake of Different Edible Oils on the Urinary Proteome of Rats

ABSTRACT: Thirty 7-week-old male Wistar rats, with a body weight of approximately 200 g, were purchased from Beijing Vital River Laboratory Animal Technology Co., Ltd. All rats were raised in a standard environment (room temperature: (22 ± 1) °C, humidity: 65%-70%). The experiment started after the rats were raised in the new environment for three days. All experimental operations were reviewed and approved by the Ethics Committee of the College of Life Sciences, Beijing Normal University, with the approval number CLS-AWEC-B-2022-003.

Project description:Background: The outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) poses a considerable health threat to humanity, with potential implications for the ovarian microenvironment remaining uncertain. Methods: Transcriptomic and proteomic analyses of ovarian granulosa cells, along with metabolomic and lipidomic profiling of follicular fluid, were conducted on 17 non-COVID-19 cases and 9 COVID-19 cases. This study received approval from the ethics committee (KYLL-2022-581). Generalized estimating equations model was performed to identify oocyte competency biomarkers. Additionally, cell proliferation, apoptosis, and altered pathways were examined following lentivirus transfection. RNA profiling of matched pair samples of primary breast cancer vs. lung and pleura metastasis

Project description:Patient samples were recruited from a series of female patients with metastatic primary breast cancer (PBC) and biopsy-confirmed breast cancer lung or pleural metastasis (BCLPM) at the Department of Thoracic Surgery, Thoraxklinik, Univ. of Heidelberg, Germany. All patients were included who had received lung or pleural metastasis biopsies from 2003 to 2014 and had a prior history of PBC at the Department of Gynaecology and Obstetrics, Univ. Hospital. Formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded tissue samples were provided by the Tissue Bank at the National Center for Tumor Diseases (NCT, Heidelberg, Germany) in accordance with the regulations of the Tissue Bank and approval of the Ethics Committee at the Medical Faculty of the Univ. of Heidelberg, approval no. S-716/2018.

The effect of trimethylamine N-oxide on the metabolism of visceral white adipose tissue in spontaneously hypertensive rat

Project description:Male SHRs and normotensive Wistar-Kyoto(WKY) rats were purchased from Vital River (Vital River Laboratory Animal Technology Co., Ltd, Beijing, China). Briefly, eightteen SHRs aged seven to eight weeks old were randomly assigned to one of three groups: water group (drinking tap water), water containing 333 mg/L or 1g/L TMAO group (TMAO, product number: T1362, Tokyo Chemical Industry, Japan). Six WKY rats of the same age were used as normotensive controls. In this study, WKY rats (n=6), SHR (n=6), and SHR treated with 1g/L TMAO (n=6) were uesd for experiments.

A time-course study of bile duct ligation (BDL)-induced liver fibrosis in rats

Project description:The aim is to characterize rat liver fibrosis induced by bile duct ligation (BDL). To induce hepatic fibrosis, Male Sprague Dawley rats (9-12 weeks of age and 380-420 g of weight upon arrival, supplied by Beijing Vital River laboratory animal Co., Ltd.) underwent surgery of bile duct ligation (BDL). The bile ducts of Sprague-Dawley rats were ligated after 12 hours of fasting and water deprivation. Rat liver samples were collected from three groups of rats at week 1, 2 and 5 after BDL surgery. Three control groups of rats underwent sham operation, including bile duct mobilization, but without BDL. Three biological replicates were used for each group.

FFPE proteomes for Group 3 and Group 4 subtypes of paediatric medulloblastoma

Project description:These data were generated in May of 2016 on a Thermo Q-Exactive at the University of Cape Town in South Africa. Samples were drawn from 48 cases of malignant medulloblastoma that were added to the FFPE archive between 1988 and 2014 under approval from the University of Cape Town Faculty of Health Sciences Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC 149/2014). Assignment to Group 3 or Group 4 categories was performed via Nanostring analysis and IHC (other subtypes were also analyzed in the larger study). Five distinct samples from each of the two Groups were subjected to LC-MS/MS. After conversion to mzML, a total of 245,589 tandem mass spectra were available, of which 36% corresponded to doubly-charged precursor ions. Over all ten experiments, tandem mass spectra were acquired at a rate of 4.55 Hz. MS/MS scans averaged a peak density average of 148 peaks per spectrum. RNA difference in superficial temporal artery between moyamoya disease and normal control

Project description:We collected the Superficial temporal artery (STA) tissues from patients with Moyamoya disease who underwent combined direct and indirect bypass surgery and patients with brain trauma requiring craniotomy in the Department of Neurosurgery, First Affiliated Hospital of USTC (Anhui Provincial Hospital). One part was fixed in 10% neutral formalin solution, and the other part was stored in a refrigerator at -80 ℃. All protocols using human specimens were approved by the ethics committee of the First Affiliated Hospital of USTC (Anhui Provincial Hospital). Written informed consent was obtained from all patients. All protocols were approved by the Institutional Review Board of the First Affiliated Hospital of USTC (Anhui Provincial Hospital).Total RNA was extracted from the STA tissues using Trizol reagent (Invitrogen, Carlsbad, CA, USA) according to the manufacturer's protocol. The integrity and concentration of RNA were detected using an Agilent Bioanalyzer 2100 system (Agilent Technologies, Santa Clara, Calif., USA), enriched and purified with Oligo (dT) -bearing magnetic beads. RNA sequencing was performed by Anoroad (Beijing, China).
