Label-free quantitative proteomic analysis for normal and inflamed colonic mucosa from patients with ulcerative colitis


ABSTRACT: Label-free quantitative proteomic analysis for clinical tissues of 5 normal and 5 inflamed colonic mucosa. The EASY-nLC 1200 system and Q Exactive Plus were used for peptides detection. A total of 4102 proteins were identified, and 2713 proteins were quantified. According to the criterion fold change > 2 and adjusted P value less than 0.05, we found 159 differential protein.

To date, treating ulcerative colitis (UC) remains a significant challenge due to its complex etiology. In this study, metabolomics and proteomics analysis for multi-center cohorts reveal that both serum arginine levels and the rate-limiting enzyme argininosuccinate synthetase 1 (ASS1) are significantly elevated in UC patients.
