Phosphorylation of serine residues within SQ/TQ motifs, particularly Ser237 of the ATP-dependent DNA helicase DDX11, by ataxia telangiectasia mutated (ATM) kinase plays a key role in activating the DNA damage response (DDR) in liver cancer.
