YSHS activates PPAR signaling pathway to protect adenine-induced kidney injury
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: Yi-Shen-Hua-Shi (YSHS) granule is a widely used drug for the treatment of chronic kidney disease in mainland China which could effectively improve renal function, reduce proteinuria, and alleviate renal pathological injury. Here, we explored the impact of YSHS in adenine-induced kidney injure model mice. The serological and renal histopathological changes suggested that YSHS could effectively improve renal function and renal tissue pathological injury Proteomics data indicated that YSHS remodeled the immune cells in kidney, inhibited fibrosis and inflammatory factor expression, and improved the lipid metabolism in renal cortex of model mice, which were confirmed by flow cytometry and biochemistry methods. In addition, the proteomics data showed that YSHS activated PPAR signaling pathway and elevated the expression of the downstream protein Klotho in kidney injury mice.
