In this study, RNA-Seq data were generated from grapevine root/shoot under WD and well-watered (control (C)) conditions to compare root signaling and shoot responses to water deficit.

Project description:Cell totipotency and pluripotency are the cellular basis for root regeneration in Platycladus orientalis cuttings, and the regeneration of adventitious roots is a key determinant for improving stem-cutting. However, the cellular basis and physiological regulation of adventitious root formation are still ambiguous. In this work, root primordia initiation and organogenesis were histologically observed, dynamic alterations in soluble proteins were monitored, and Tandem Mass Tag protein profiling during adventitious root development was carried out.

Project description:Lotus (Nelumbo nucifera Gaertn) belongs to the family Nymphaeaceae, and is a popular aquatic vegetable that is rich in nutrients. It is widely cultivated in China, and many varieties of lotus are used for different purposes, suited to different climates, and consumed in different ways. Lotus is commonly produced by asexual propagation, so mutation through hybridization and variation fixed by asexual propagation are the main ways to create new varieties. Therefore, the formation of adventitious roots (ARs) in lotus, which does not have a well-developed principal root, is an important part of growth and development. It would be very useful to control ARs formation for lotus production and breeding.

Comparative analysis of excretory–secretory products of muscle larvae of three isolates of Trichinella pseudospiralis by the iTRAQ method

Project description:we compared the differentially expressed proteins of excretory-secretory (ES) products in three isolates of T. pseudospiralis ML [muscle larvae from Russia (RUS), United States of America (USA) and Australia (AUS)] using isobaric tags for relative and absolute quantification (iTRAQ)-based technology.A total of 2,591 nonredundant proteins were identified, of which 65 (146), 72 (98) and 43 (103) significantly upregulated (downregulated) differentially expressed proteins were detected among pairwise comparisons (T4RUS vs T4USA, T4AUS vs T4USA and T4RUS vs T4AUS). In addition, GO annotation, KEGG and STRING analyses were carried out on the screened differentially altered proteins.

Differentially expressed genes induced with or without UVB stimulation in mice

Project description:Skin cancer is the most prevalent cancer in humans, especially in the United States, Australia, and New Zealand. Australia and New Zealand are the two countries with the highest rates of skin cancer in the world, about four times higher than the United States, the United Kingdom and Canada. According to statistics, one American dies of skin cancer every hour. Studies have shown that ultraviolet radiation is the main cause of skin cancer, and ultraviolet rays are mainly divided into UVA, UVB and UVC according to wavelength, UVA and UVB can cause DNA damage, and UVB is the main factor that induces skin cancer. UVB is primarily a direct damage to cellular DNA and generally includes the formation of pyrimidine dimers (CPDs) and 6-4 photoproducts (6-4PPs). UVB can also cause mutations in tumor suppressor genes such as p53, ptch, and ras. These bases the mutation will promote the activation of related signaling pathways, thereby inducing the production of tumors.In this study, we will use gene chip technology to screen out UVB-sensitive genes, and then select the genes of the UVB-sensitive GPCR family from these genes, and further use PCR for verification, so as to identify UVB-sensitive GPCRs, which will provide a basis for further experimental research.
