Identification of the target protein of the anticancer peptide Yaku’amide B


ABSTRACT: Yaku’amide B-binding proteins were enriched and purified from MCF-7 cell lysates using a biotinylated photoaffinity probe of Yaku’amide B through photoaffinity labeling (PAL) pull-down, and subsequently identified by mass spectrometry.

Innovative chemical strategies are needed to understand the molecular targets of natural products, especially when they engage with multiple targets via transient interactions.
