Shrimp Oil alleviates white matter lesions and improves cognitive deficits by attenuating neuroinflammation in chronic cerebral hypoperfusion rat model


ABSTRACT: Vascular dementia (VaD), resulting from chronic cerebral hypoperfusion (CCH), is the second among the age-related problems in an aging population worldwide. Neuroinflammation is increasing linked to the pathological process of VaD. Shrimp oil is a processing shrimp by-product containing abundance of astaxanthin and lipids including n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs).
