Proteomic analysis of human eosinophils stimulated with butyrate

ABSTRACT: Activated eosinophils is a major cell type to be involved in allergic diseases. Short chain fatty acids including butyrate and propionate have regulatory effects in the immune system. Butyrate has proapoptotic effects on human eosinophils at high concentrations. The aim of this study is to clarify the role of butyrate in the regulation of human eosinophils at physiological concentrations.
