Aspergillus fumigatus metabelomics after rice straw treatment

ABSTRACT: This metabolomic dataset investigates the effect of HBC-HA on Aspergillus fumigatus AF01 during rice straw degradation. It includes data from four experimental conditions: fungus with substrate, with substrate and HBC-HA, and relevant controls.

Project description:We examined the antifungal activity of artemisinin against Aspergillus fumigatus (A. fumigatus), a pathogenic filamentous fungus responsible for allergic and invasive aspergillosis in humans and analyzed transcript profiles of the fungus on exposure to Artemisinin. A. fumigatus spores were cultured for 48 h and then treated with artemisinin (at MIC50 concentration) or solvent control (DMSO) for 3 h to study its transcriptomic profiles.

Transcriptome response of Aspergillus fumigatus cultures under different temperatures

Project description:Microarray analysis was used to compare gene expression of Aspergillus fumigatus under two different sporulation temperatures, 17oC and 32oC, with an emphasis on genes encoding known or putative allergens of the fungus. Transcriptomes of Aspergillus fumigatus Z5 induced by different carbon sources

Project description:Various saprotrophic microorganisms, especially filamentous fungi, can efficiently degrade lignocellulose that is one of the most abundant natural material on earth. It consists of complex carbohydrates and aromatic polymers found in plant cell wall and thus in plant debris. Aspergillus fumigatus Z5 was isolated from compost heaps and showed highly efficient plant biomass-degradation capability.Genome analysis revealed an impressive array of genes encoding cellulases, hemicellulases, and pectinases involved in lignocellulosic biomass degradation. We sequenced the transcriptomes of Aspergillus fumigatus Z5 induced by sucrose, xylan, cellulose and rice straw, respectively. There were 444, 1711 and 1386 significantly differently (q-value ≤ 0.0001 and |log2 of the ratio of the RPM values| ≥ 2) expressed genes in xylan, cellulose and rice straw,respectively, relative to sucrose control.

Aspergillus fumigatus germination process whole genome transcriptomic study using AWAFUGE microarray

Project description:Aspergillus fumigatus is a saprophytic fungus that occasionally can produce a wide range of diseases. The ubiquity and great adaptability of this fungus play a crucial role in its pathogenicity. Its adaptation begins in the germination process when it is exposed to the media. In this study pre- and post-polarization steps of the germination of RPMI cultures have been analyzed. When the conidia reach 30% of swelling (Swollen) or germination (Control), the total RNA was isolated and purified using the RNeasy Plant Mini Kit (Qiagen). The AWAFUGE (Agilent Whole A. fumigatus Genome Expression 44K v.1) hybridization was carried out following previously publish protocols (A-MEXP-2352,E-MTAB-5314 and E-MTAB-13476)

After incubation at 45 â, 145rpm for 20 hours with sucrose as the carbon source, mycelia were induced for 16 hours using xylan, cellulose and rice straw, respectively. Transcriptome induced by sucrose was used as the control when comparing the differences between other three transcriptomes (induced by xylan, cellulose and rice straw, respectively).
