Ketogenic diet dampens excitatory neurotransmission by shrinking synaptic vesicle pools


ABSTRACT: Proteomic analysis of histone variants and post-translational modifications revealed significant changes in activating and repressive epigenetic marks in the hippocampus of ketogenic diet mice. These chromatin changes underlie transcriptional remodeling related to hippocampal neurotransmission, which in turn results in reduced synaptic vesicle pools
