Untargeted plasma metabolomics and lipidomics of hospitalized COVID-19 patients with and without acute kidney injury
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: This dataset contains untargeted plasma metabolomics and lipidomics data from approximately 600 hospitalized COVID-19 patients recruited at Hospital das Clinicas, University of Sao Paulo (HC-USP), Brazil. All samples were collected during the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic in Sao Paulo, before the introduction of vaccination, and include patients who did and did not develop acute kidney injury (AKI) during hospitalization. Plasma samples were analyzed by high-resolution LC-MS/MS in both positive and negative ionization modes. De-identified clinical and demographic metadata (70 variables per patient), including AKI status (KDIGO-based), comorbidities, laboratory measurements, and outcomes, are provided to enable discovery and validation of metabolic signatures of COVID-19-associated AKI and to support downstream multi-omics and repository-scale reanalysis.
