ABSTRACT: Ascidian is an invasive fouling species within marine ecosystem. The fouling ascidians usually attach on bivalve aquaculture facilities, which is likely related to the influence of certain chemical factors potentially released from scallops. To investigate whether certain chemicals can be indeed released from tissues of scallops, researchers conducted untargeted metabolomic analysis of scallop coelomic fluids.
