Untargeted serum metabolomics of dairy goats under heat stress and melatonin supplementation
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: Serum untargeted metabolomic profiling was performed to characterize metabolic alterations induced by heat stress and to evaluate the potential protective effects of melatonin supplementation in dairy goats. Serum samples were collected from dairy goats assigned to three experimental groups: a normal control group (NC), a heat-stressed group (HS), and a melatonin-treated heat-stressed group (MT). Untargeted metabolomics was used to comprehensively detect serum metabolites and identify differential metabolic features and pathways associated with heat stress and melatonin-mediated metabolic recovery. This dataset provides a resource for investigating systemic metabolic responses to heat stress and the metabolic regulatory mechanisms underlying the protective effects of melatonin in dairy goats.
INSTRUMENT(S): Liquid Chromatography MS - negative - reversed-phase-chromatography, Liquid Chromatography MS - positive - reversed-phase-chromatography
