Untargeted LC–MS metabolomic profiling of fecal samples from azithromycin- and cefaclor-exposed C57BL/6J mice
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: This study investigated metabolic alterations associated with antibiotic exposure and increased body-weight gain in male C57BL/6J mice. Animals were assigned to a control group, an azithromycin (AZM) exposure group, or a cefaclor (CEC) exposure group. Fecal samples collected after antibiotic treatment were analyzed using untargeted liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry (LC–MS). Metabolomic profiles were compared among the three groups to identify antibiotic-associated alterations in bile acid, lipid, amino acid, sphingolipid, and redox-related metabolism, and to explore potential metabolic mechanisms linking antibiotic exposure, gut microbial disturbance, and obesity-related phenotypes.
INSTRUMENT(S): Liquid Chromatography MS - negative - c18-reversed-phase, Liquid Chromatography MS - positive - c18-reversed-phase
