ABSTRACT: Photosynthesis and carbohydrate metabolism are crucial for plant growth and yield. Given that the overexpression of TaANT11-4A not only increases grain size and weight in wheat but also enhances overall biomass, we hypothesize that TaANT11-4A may strengthen photosynthesis in source organs, thereby leading to a comprehensive increase in sink products. Metabolites are the end products of cellular processes and can reflect gene transcription levels and protein expression. Therefore, metabolomics has been widely used to detect the relationships between metabolites and agronomic traits. Since carbohydrates are the direct products of photosynthesis and carbohydrate metabolism, we performed untargeted metabolomics analysis to further understand the role of TaANT11-4A in these pathways. Leaves of the wild-type (WT) and TaANT11-4A overexpression line OE-64 were harvested at the three-leaf stage for metabolomics analysis.
