Project description:Background: Deep venous thrombosis is one of the most common peripheral vascular diseases that lead to major morbidity and mortality. We aimed to identify potential differentially expressed miRNAs and target mRNAs, which were helpful in understanding the potential molecule mechanism of deep venous thrombosis.
Project description:In our study, small RNA library and degradome library were constructed from developing soybean seeds for deep sequencing. We identified 26 new miRNAs in soybean by bioinformatic analysis, and further confirmed their expression by stem-loop RT-PCR. The miRNA star sequences of 38 known miRNAs and 8 new miRNAs were also discovered, providing additional evidence for the existence of miRNAs. Through degradome sequencing, 145 and 25 genes were identified as targets of annotated miRNAs and new miRNAs, respectively. Many identified miRNA targets may perform functions in soybean seed development by GO analysis. Additionally, soybean homolog of Arabidopsis SUPPRESSOR OF GENE SLIENCING 3(AtSGS3) was detected as target of the new identified miRNA Soy_25, suggesting presence of feedback control of miRNA biogenesis
Project description:Recently, we demonstrated that RDRs had a general function to synthesize antisense RNAs from sense transcripts of protein-coding genes. In this study, we analyzed whether RDR-mediated antisense RNAs were processed into small RNAs by deep sequencing using SOLiD. Deep sequencing identified 1,645 RDR1/2/6-mediated smRNA loci in drought stress and control conditions.
Project description:Our data demonstrate the suitability of target capture technology for purifying very low quantities of Leptospira DNA from biological samples where the human genome is in vast excess. This enables deep sequencing of partial Leptospira genomes directly from clinical samples using next generation technologies and genotyping.

Project description:We employed chromatin pull-down and deep sequencing to globally identify HetR DNA targets in vivo at 6 hours after fixed-nitrogen deprivation. We identified novel DNA binding targets of tagged HetR-6xHis and defined a consensus HetR binding site from these HetR target sequences. Chromatin pull down of hetR mutant strain UHM103 carrying pAM4375, which expresses HetR-6xHis, and a wild-type control. One dataset was collected.
