Project description:Hypoxylon pulicicidum strain MF5954 (ATCC 74245) (formerly classified as Nodulisporium sp.) is a filamentous fungal species known for its production of the secondary metabolite nodulisporic acid A. We present here the 41.5-Mb draft genome sequence for this organism.
Project description:The saprotrophic ascomycete Xylaria hypoxylon is a widespread wood-decaying fungus on deciduous trees. Here, we report its draft genome sequence. The genome assembly has a size of 42.8 Mbp and a G+C content of 47.1% and includes 11,038 predicted genes.
Project description:<i>Xylaria hypoxylo</i>n is a noticeable black fungus, and also habitual to cluster on rotting wood. In this study, the high-quality whole-genome of <i>X. hypoxylon</i> strain SFY20170806 was sequenced on the Illumina sequencing platform. The complete mitochondrial genome of <i>X. hypoxylon</i> was assembled and annotated. The single circular structure of 129,366?bp length is the largest species found in the order Xylariales. The overall GC content is 29.7% and gene composition includes 13 protein-coding genes (PCGs), 30 transfer RNA genes(tRNA), 2 ribosomal RNA genes(rRNA) and 6 open reading frames (ORF). Phylogenetic tree was constructed to validate the evolutionary relationship based on the complete mitogenomes from twelve taxa of four species of Xylariales, four species of Hypocreales, two species of Helotiales, one species of Microascales and <i>X. hypoxylon</i>. Phylogenetic analysis demonstrated that <i>X. hypoxylon</i> has a special evolutionary status and close genetic relationship with <i>Annulohypoxylon stygium</i>.
Project description:Trichosporon asahii is one of the important opportunistic pathogenic fungi. Here, we first report the draft nuclear chromosome genome sequence and mitochondrial genome sequence of T. asahii CBS 2479, which is a standard strain of T. asahii that was isolated from a progressive psoriatic lesion. COG analysis predicted that 3,131 genes were assigned to 23 functional categories and that 628 genes were predicted to have a general function.
