Project description:C57BL6J mice were fed 200ug/kg body weight BPA or BPS for two weeks and then bred. Placenta tissue was collected at embryonic day 12.5, and dams received checmicals until this day. RNA-Seq was carried out on placenta tissue, and 13 genes were identified to have altered expression to a similar extent in BPA and BPS treated mice.

Bisphenol B and bisphenol AF exposure enhances uterine diseases risks in mouse

Project description:Bisphenol A (BPA) analogs, bisphenol B (BPB) and bisphenol AF (BPAF) have been widely detected in the environment and human products with increasing frequency. However, uterine health risks caused by BPBBisphenol A (BPA) analogs, bisphenol B (BPB) and bisphenol AF (BPAF) have been widely detected in the environment and human products with increasing frequency. However, uterine health risks caused by BPB and BPAF exposure need to be further elucidated. The study aimed to explore whether BPB or BPAF exposure will induce adverse outcomes in uterus. We then performed gene expression profiling using data obtained from mouse uterus exposed to BPB and BPAF at 28 days.

Trophoblast syncytialization maintains the placenta-heart axis

Project description:The developmental connection between the placenta and certain embryonic organs, such as the heart, is associated with normal pregnancy and complications, but how the placenta governs embryonic cardiogenesis is poorly understood. Trophoblasts fuse into a multinucleated syncytiotrophoblast (SynT) layer, primarily consisting of a placental materno-fetal interface. We identify that endogenous progesterone immunomodulatory binding factor 1 (PIBF1) is essential for trophoblast differentiation and fusion into SynT in human trophoblasts and mouse placentas. Moreover, SynT-derived PIBF1 enables the communication between SynT and adjacent vascular cells to develop the vascular network in the primary placenta and further impacts the early development of the embryonic cardiovascular system in an endocrine manner. Thus, SynT-derived factors and SynT itself in the placenta may play crucial roles in the proper organogenesis of other organs in the embryo.

Project description:Plasticizers with estrogenic activity, such as bisphenol A (BPA), have been reported to have potential adverse health effects in humans, especially in fetal and infant stages. Due to mounting evidence and public pressure BPA is being phased out by the plastics manufacturing industry and is being replaced by other bisphenol variants in “BPA-free” products. We have compared estrogenic activity of 7 bisphenol analogues (BPA; bisphenol S, BPS; bisphenol F, BPF; bisphenol AP, BPAP; bisphenol AF, BPAF; bisphenol Z, BPZ; bisphenol B, BPB) in human breast cancer cell lines.
