Phospho-proteomic characterization of human hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) tumor biopsies

ABSTRACT: We analyzed the phospho-proteome of tumor and matched non-tumor biopsies from 51 treatment-naive Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patients by label-free DDA. Thereby we aim to find subgroups of patients characterized by specific pathway activation. Furthermore, we aim to find novel factors involved in HCC development and novel biomarkers.

Proteogenomic analyses of hepatocellular carcinomas (HCC) have focused on early-stage, HBV-associated HCCs. Here we present an integrated proteogenomic analysis of HCCs across clinical stages and etiologies. Pathways related to cell cycle, transcriptional and translational control, signaling transduction, and metabolism are dysregulated and differentially regulated on the genomic, transcriptomic, proteomic and phosphoproteomic levels. We describe candidate copy number-driven driver genes involve  ...[more]
