Quantitative proteomics analysis of cumulus cells from the young and old mice


ABSTRACT: Cumulus cells from the young and old mice were subjected to the TMT6 labeling, HP-RP fractionation, and LC-MS/MS analysis. Cumulus cells surrounding 375 oocytes were collected in each of the three biological replicates. Raw files were analyzed using MaxQuant software.

Maternal age has been reported to impair oocyte quality. However, the molecular mechanisms underlying the age-related decrease in oocyte competence remain poorly understood. Cumulus cells establish direct contact with the oocyte through gap junctions, facilitating the provision of crucial nutrients necessary for oocyte development.
