The brain's hemispheres exhibit profound lateralization, yet the underlying mechanisms remain elusive. Using proteomic and phosphoproteomic analyses of the bilateral striatum - a hub for important brain functions and a common node of autism pathophysiology - we identified significant phosphorylation asymmetries.
