Time-resolved effects of cold atmospheric plasma on E. coli GW-AmxH19 transcriptome and proteome in an emulated wastewater environment
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: Cold atmospheric plasma has been shown to be effective against a variety of microorganisms. In this study, we used the plasma treatment method wINPlas to unravel effects on an Escherichia coli isolated from hospital wastewater. E. coli GW-AmxH19 incubated in artificial wastewater was treated for 15 minutes with cold atmospheric plasma. Transcriptomes and proteomes were monitored at different timepoints within a 24 h period to differentiate between immediate physiological responses and adaptations in the recovery phase.
