Distyly is a reproductive system, characterized by the presence of two floral morphs, which promotes outcrossing via physical and biochemical means. In distylous <i>Turnera</i>, the mating type of the S-morph is determined by two genes: <i>YUC6</i> (male) and <i>BAHD</i> (female).
