Comparative genomics studies on the intertidal spider (Desis jiaxiangi) provide new insights into evolutionary adaptations to a marine lifestyle


ABSTRACT: This project investigates the adaptive evolution of intertidal spider silk proteins, focusing on the proteomic and structural composition of silks. Using high-resolution mass spectrometry, this study provides insights into silk’s structural diversity and adaptive potential, elucidating evolutionary patterns and protein adaptations underlying silk functionality. Findings advance our understanding of silk’s ecological adaptability and evolutionary dynamics in intertidal spiders.
