Extracellular vesicles of murine-derived epicardial derived cell line under hypoxic and normoxic environment TMT LC-MS


ABSTRACT: Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are key players in intercellular communication. Here we show that modulating cellular environment by changing the available oxygen levels in vitro in embryonic-derived epicardial-derived cells (EPDCs) from mice we modulate their protein content. Murine EPDCs react by secreting EV with increasing content in glycolysis-related proteins when in hypoxic environment.

The epicardium, an epithelial layer covering the heart, plays pivotal roles in embryonic heart development and responses to adult cardiac damage.
