PlxnA2 interactome in primary hippocampal murine neurons


ABSTRACT: Proper assembly of complex neural circuits requires the coordinated action of a limited set of axon guidance molecules, including plexins. To probe the extracellular vicinity of PlxnA2 in primary hippocampal neurons, we used in this work antibody directed proximity biotinylation and identified candidate co-receptors.

Mossy fibers (MFs) originate from dentate granule cells and innervate area CA3 of the hippocampus. Upon entry of CA3, MFs partition into two prominent axon bundles, the suprapyramidal tract (SPT) and infrapyramidal tract (IPT) and form lamina specific synaptic contacts in the stratum lucidum (SL) and stratum oriens (SO), respectively.
