Identifying putative substrates of Lon protease in Pseudomonas aeruginosa


ABSTRACT: We aim to identify potential substrates of the Lon protease in P. aeruginosa. Samples with the lon protease overexpressed or deleted were compared to the wild type to observe the proteins whose steady-state levels changed with change in Lon levels. We used spectinomycin to inhibit protein synthesis and observed the stability of proteins over 30 and 60 minutes to identify proteins whose stability also changed in response of Lon levels.
