Protein signatures of the aging hemolymph in marbled crayfish

ABSTRACT: In this study, we carried out detailed quantitative proteomics to compare protein profiles of hemolymph from young and aged marbled crayfish. We aim to identify and quantify proteins as molecular hallmarks of aging and longevity regulators in circulating body fluid. Our approach could yield molecular biomarkers of physiological aging and shed light on fundamental and conserved mechanisms governing lifespan across the animal kingdom, especially decapod crustaceans.
