Hormone-dependent secretome profiling of bovine oviductal epithelial organoids


ABSTRACT: This project characterizes the hormone-dependent secretome of bovine oviductal epithelial organoids. Organoids were stimulated with estradiol or progesterone to mimic follicular and luteal phases, and their secretions were analyzed by LC-MS/MS. The resulting proteomic profiles closely matched native oviductal fluid and revealed clear endocrine-specific signatures, demonstrating that organoids faithfully reproduce the molecular and secretory landscape of the bovine oviduct.

The oviduct provides the dynamic microenvironment that supports fertilization and early embryo development yet replicating its hormonally regulated secretory activity in vitro remains a major challenge.
