Middle-Late Pleistocene Denisovans and unresolved Homo in southern China
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: Shotgun palaeoproteomic analyses were conducted on three teeth from two cave sites (Chuanshandong and Longchuandong) in Guangxi, southern China, dated to >100.8 ka and 104.5-42.6 ka, respectively. Typical enamel proteome was recovered. SAP assignment and phylogenetic analyses suggested that the Longchuandong samples belong to Denisovan-affinity lineage and the Chuanshandong sample belongs to an unresolved archaic Homo lineage, with new SAP in ameloblastin.
