Surface proteomics of Sahiwal spermatozoa: Unveiling key membrane proteins in fertilization and reproductive function
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: The Total proteins and membrane-enriched factions from spermatozoa of Sahiwal Bulls (Bos indicus) were analyzed proeomically in this work. Isolated total proteins and membrane-enriched fractions were tryptic digested and analyzed by liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS). The resulting datasets TP and MEP were examined in-silico to assess patterns of protein abundance across fractions and identify proteins associated with membrane and surface-related functions. Gene Ontology (GO) functional profiling of membrane-associated proteins was performed from both datasets related to their possible biological functions in sperm physiology and fertility-related processes. This datasets supports further research on fertility-associated biomarkers and provides a comprehensive proteins resource for understanding the composition of the membrane-associated sperm proteome in Sahiwal Bull.
